My name is Brittney Bird. I am a junior at MTSU majoring in Organizational Communications - and new to blogging.

So what do I want to do "when I grow up"?
That's a good question.

I do know that social media is a growing aspect of today's society. Everything is online. Everything has a Twitter. In order to be successful at communicating, one also has to understand communicating via social media. Professional social media is the newest way to promote a business, get your brand out there, and pull in new clients. But remember.. It's all about listening.

This semester, I am taking a course in professional social media and organizational communications to learn more about just that, and I will be using this blog to share my personal ideas and opinions in all things social media, as laid out by my instructor. Throughout the semester, I have these goals for myself:

1. Create and expand my social network

2. Develop and share my brand

3. Explore new social media outlets, such as blogging
